At Suarez Physical Therapy, we do not adopt a one-size-fits-all treatment approach. Instead, we have personalized physical therapy programs for all our patients. We treat all patients like family, making them feel comfortable and giving them our full attention.

To ensure that our clients get the most out of physical therapy, we encourage patients to honor all appointments and meet their prescribed treatment frequency. Following through with your treatment plan of care will help you achieve the best progress since every physical therapy session builds off the previous session. After the initial evaluation, our clinical experts will recommend a personalized home exercise program (HEP). They will also advise you on what to do in between your physical therapy treatment sessions. Our HEP programs are easy to follow and will help you achieve significant progress even while at home.

Physical therapy and a positive attitude go hand-in-hand. We encourage our patients to stay positive and expect positive results from the treatment programs. Who We Are

Our founder, Edwin Suarez, PT was born in New York but has lived in Las Vegas for more than 40 years and considers himself a Las Vegas Native. He is fluent in Spanish and so proud of his rich culture. The proud father of three children enjoys road biking, softball, and supporting philanthropic endeavors. It's his great passion to open a fourth SPT location in Northeast Las Vegas since his childhood apartment was located on the corner of 28^th St. and Bonanza. His goal is to ensure that all patients have access to exceptional physical therapy services in the Las Vegas Valley.

Edwin Suarez holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science emphasis from the California State University, Long Beach. He also earned a graduate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

He has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings since graduating in 2002. He is well versed in handling pediatric, adolescent, and adult patient populations. Currently, Edwin Suarez is Level 2 Functional Dry Needling certified.

Acoustic Shockwave
Therapy

Acoustic shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment procedure that entails creating and applying a series of low energy acoustic waves on the injury. This modality has gained immense popularity in physical therapy treatment. Acoustic shockwave therapy effectively treats numerous musculoskeletal conditions, mainly those that involve connective tissues like tendons and ligaments. Many physical therapists use shockwave therapy as a tool for treating chronic or stubborn tendinopathy. Low-Level Laser
Therapy

Commonly abbreviated as LLLT, low-level laser therapy is an effective procedure used by physical therapists to treat several musculoskeletal conditions. LLLT is a non-invasive light source treatment that uses light to speed up the healing process. Low-level laser therapy speeds up the healing process for tendinopathy sprains/strains and post-surgical edema. This treatment procedure doesn't emit heat, sounds, or vibrations.

It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and accelerates connective tissue repair. Suarez Physical Therapy uses low-level laser therapy for the treatment of:

Osteoarthritis of the hip, knee, or ankle
Disc herniations
Neuropathic pain

Spinal Traction
Decompression

Spinal traction decompression is a non-surgical treatment that helps to relieve back pain. Spinal traction decompression entails stretching the spine gently to change the force and the position of the spine. This alteration helps to take the pressure off the spinal disc by creating negative pressure in the disc. After this treatment, herniated or bulging discs may retract, removing pressure from the nerves and other spinal structures. This, in turn, facilitates the movement of oxygen, water, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs, promoting healing.

Our experts at Suarez Physical Therapy use spinal traction decompression to treat:

Sciatic or back or neck pain often characterized by pain, tingling, or weakness that extends down the leg and/or arms
Herniated or bulging discs
Degenerative disc disease (DDD)
Posterior facet syndrome that involves worn spinal joints
Diseased or injured spinal nerve roots

This treatment procedure is non-invasive compared to the surgical spinal decompression treatments like microdiscectomy or laminectomy. This treatment helps eliminate neck or back pain and any other radiating or shooting pain that affects the lower and the upper extremities. The procedure uses the same basic principle as spinal tractions that chiropractors and osteopaths have used for a long time.

Functional Dry
Needling (FDN)

Functional dry needling is a treatment procedure that entails inserting a microfilament needle into targeted soft tissue and muscles. We use this procedure to treat painful trigger points, commonly referred to as muscle spasms. Functional dry needling treatment also helps to improve muscle activation and recruitment. If you have healthy muscle, you will experience little discomfort with the needle insertion. However, if your muscle is shortened, sensitive, or has trigger points within it, a patient experiences a deep pressure known as twitch response.

Even though a patient may experience slight discomfort at the needling site, positive results occur right away or within a few physiotherapy sessions. At Suarez Physical Therapy, we use functional dry needling to treat the following conditions:

The thin needles penetrate the skin to increase the range of motion, flexibility, and muscular strength. This therapy helps to relieve trigger point pain in the muscular and connective tissues. FDN is also effective in decreasing sensitization of nerves or eliminating neuromusculoskeletal pain.
